Privacy Policy
This page explains what happens to any information you send us through this website. In short: the site sets no cookies for tracking or advertising and runs no analytics. One part of the site does keep data — the quotation request form, which sends your details and any documents you attach to our own server, where they are stored privately until we delete them. Our web host also keeps standard server logs, and the map on our contact page only contacts Google if you choose to load it. All three are explained below.

Who we are
Al Makan Alum and Glass Cont. (Al Makan) is a glass, aluminium and metal works contractor based at Ajman Industrial Area 1, Ajman, United Arab Emirates. This policy covers the website at www.almakani.com.
What this website collects
Only what you deliberately send us through the quotation request form. Every other page on this site is a plain file delivered by the web host: no accounts, no user profiles, no tracking. We run no analytics, so we do not see which pages you visited, how long you stayed or where you came from. The one exception is the quotation request form, which submits what you type, and any files you attach, to our own server — described in full below. Our web host also keeps its own server access logs — see “Third-party services on this site” below.
We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising or profiling. We do not use analytics or advertising pixels. If analytics is added in future, this page will be updated before it is switched on, and any consent required will be requested at that time.
The quotation request form
When you submit the quotation request form, the details you entered — your name, phone number, email address if you give one, the service, property type, location and project description — together with any files you attach, are uploaded to our own server and saved there as a quote request with its own reference number. You see that reference only after the request has actually been saved; if the upload fails, we tell you so and your details stay on screen so you can try again.
What we store. The form fields listed above, the files you attach, the date and time of the request, and the IP address the request came from (kept as a basic protection against abuse of the form). We do not use that IP address for analytics or profiling.
Where it is stored. On our hosting account at Hostinger, in a private folder that sits outside the public website. The files are not reachable from the web: there is no address anyone can type to open them. We store attachments up to 25 MB each, up to 10 files and 60 MB in one request, and only the document and image types the form lists.
Who can see it. Only Al Makan, through a password-protected area of the site that requires logging in before any request or attachment can be viewed or downloaded. When a request arrives, our own email address receives a short notification containing the reference number and your contact details so we know to look — your attachments are not sent by email.
How long we keep it. Quote requests and their attachments are kept for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted automatically along with the files. We may delete a request sooner once a job is finished or an enquiry comes to nothing, and we will delete any request at your request — see “Your rights” below. Deleting a request removes its attachments from the server at the same time.
The contact form, WhatsApp and email
The contact form on this site works differently: it does not send anything to our server. When you complete it and submit, the details you entered are assembled into a message on your own device and handed to one of two applications that you choose. The quotation form also offers WhatsApp afterwards, as an optional way to follow up on a request you have already sent.
- WhatsApp — your browser opens a WhatsApp link (
wa.me) that carries the prepared text inside the web address itself. Because the text travels in the URL, it may be kept in your browser history, and the request to open it reaches WhatsApp’s servers. Opening the link does not send anything: WhatsApp shows the message in a chat window, already typed. It is sent only when you press send in WhatsApp, and it then reaches our business number +971 56 436 9675 under WhatsApp’s own privacy terms. If you would rather these details did not pass through a URL, call us instead. - Email — the same idea: a
mailto:link asks whichever email application your device uses to open a new message, already addressed to almakan.uae@gmail.com and already written. Nothing leaves your device until you press send there. If no email application is set up on the device, nothing will open.
With the contact form, nothing is transmitted anywhere until you press send in that application. If you close it without sending, the information you typed is discarded when you leave the page.
What we do with what you send us
However your enquiry reaches us — through the quotation form, WhatsApp, email or telephone — we use it for one purpose: to respond to it, prepare a quotation, arrange a survey and carry out the work if you instruct us. Quote requests submitted through this site are held on our server as described above. Enquiries that arrive by WhatsApp, email or telephone are held in our own business accounts on WhatsApp Business and email, for as long as they are commercially or legally necessary.
We do not sell your details, we do not share them with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not add you to marketing lists without you asking. We may share details with a supplier or subcontractor only where it is necessary to price or carry out your specific job — for example, sending measurements to a glass processor.
Third-party services on this site
- Google Maps — the map on our contact page does not load until you click it. Nothing is requested from Google, and no Google cookie is set, unless you choose to load or open the map. Once you do, Google's own privacy terms apply.
- WhatsApp — used only when you click a WhatsApp link. WhatsApp's own terms then apply to the conversation.
- Web hosting — our host may keep standard server access logs (such as IP addresses and requested pages) for security and operational purposes. These logs are the host's, are not used by us for analytics or profiling, and are retained under the host's own retention policy.
Fonts, icons and all artwork on this site are served from our own domain. No third-party font, tag manager, chat widget or advertising script is loaded on any page.
Your rights
You can ask us what enquiry information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will action reasonable requests. If you sent us a quotation request through this site and would prefer we did not keep it, tell us the reference number shown when you submitted it (or your name and the approximate date) and we will delete the request and every file attached to it. A copy may remain in our email or WhatsApp history where the enquiry also reached us that way, and we will remove that too if you ask.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, so what you submit is encrypted in transit. Quote requests and their attachments are stored outside the public website and cannot be opened from the web; reading or downloading them requires logging in to the owner area. Uploaded files are checked on the server against a list of permitted document and image types and are stored in a way that prevents them from being executed. We hold no payment data, and the only account on the system is our own.
No website is immune. The hosting account, the domain and our email and WhatsApp accounts can all still be attacked, and we protect them accordingly. Please do not send payment card details, bank details, passwords or copies of identity documents through the quote form, WhatsApp or email — we will never ask for them.
Children
This website is aimed at businesses and property owners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we add an analytics tool or any other service that changes how information is handled, this page will be updated before that change goes live, and the "last updated" date at the top will change.
